Prep Transition Program
Our Prep Transition Program consists of three orientation visits during October, November and December, and ideally, we hope to see your child attend each of them. This will give us the best opportunity to get to know each child, their individual personalities and needs, and will assist us as we begin the process of formulating class groups for Prep. Of course, it will also give your child a chance to familiarise themselves more fully with the school and specifically, the Prep area. Each session lasts for 90 minutes and we gradually get children to be independent with the transition visits
Our Transition Visits are as follows, dates and times to be confirmed closer to the time:
- Visit 1 – Wednesday 11th October, 9:30am – 11:00am, Prep classrooms. This session is designed to provide students with an introduction to school and begin the exciting transition from Kinder to School.
- Visit 2 – Friday 10th November, 9:30am – 11:00am, Prep classrooms. This session is designed to provide students with an introduction to school and begin the exciting transition from Kinder to School.
- Visit 3 – Tuesday 12th December, 9:30am – 12noon, Prep classrooms. This session is an orientation session for all Kinder children attending Manifold Heights Primary School in 2024 to meet their new teacher and classmates. This is the designated orientation day across the State.
A Parent Information Evening will also be held on 13th September, at 6:30pm. Full details on Prep Transition will be sent to families in September.
We may offer transition session with our Specialist teachers to give children an opportunity to experience Physical Education, Performing Arts, STEM and Art prior to commencing Prep. Details will be provided as they become available.
The children may move around to different rooms over the course of the transition process to enable them to meet a range of other students and staff. (Please be aware that the current Prep staff may not be working in the team next year.)

Grade 1-6 Transition Program
Students enrolling into Grades 1 – 6 will be invited to attend the State wide Transition Day held in December.
If your child is enrolling throughout the year students will be invited to meet with their classroom teacher prior to commencing.
